Hosted by the Zentrum für Mittelalterstudien (Centre for Medieval Studies) at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, this Bachelor's programme divides the Middle Ages into three distinct periods: the early, high, and late medieval periods.

This interdisciplinary degree investigates the social, cultural, and political dynamics of medieval Europe, with a strong emphasis on historical contexts and methods. Students can select from a range of modules covering archaeology, art history, history, literature, and philosophy, which are then contextualised within medieval frameworks.

In addition to core medieval studies, students may select a minor subject from a range of humanities disciplines to complement their primary focus.
