Training for bilingual practitioners in translation and interpreting between Chinese and English, with theory and practice given equal weight and cultural context treated as part of the work rather than background. English is the medium of instruction, and the programme has dedicated interpreter and translator training facilities. Graduates are equipped to work independently as translators or interpreters in government or the private sector, and to carry out basic research in translation studies.

International Higher Education

With English as the medium of instruction, UIC's education is of international standards with high-caliber academic performance. The college has established the Divisions of Business and Management, Culture and Creativity, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Technology, in addition to the Graduate School. Altogether UIC offers 28 undergraduate programmes, and is approved to offer nine research and five taught postgraduate programmes for over 7,000 students. Undergraduates receive HKBU Bachelor's Degrees and UIC Graduation Certificates, and postgraduates earn HKBU degrees.
