Bachelor of Engineering in Optical Engineering

Students in the Optical Engineering programme at the Hochschule Aalen work from the third semester, every Wednesday in the labs of the Zentrum für Optische Technologien (ZOT)—a research centre with 30 staff and 40 research associates, and a range of labs, including the Laser Applications Centre.

Optical Engineering covers the science and engineering of light and lasers, and their applications. Modules include Technical Berichte & Laborpraxis and Physik - Quanten/Atomphysik.

Students have the option to study this programme with a focus on research or industry, with both paths involving a Praxissemester at a partner institution. In the research path, students can work with teams like the Forschungsgruppe Optische Metrologie.
