Master in Automotive Service Technology and Processes (ASTP)

Automotive Service Technology and Processes (ASTP) is a three-semester, English-taught Master's programme at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Wolfsburg, Germany. It is directed at students aiming for careers in automotive engineering, after-sales management, and service innovation — fields being transformed by digitalisation, electrification, and new mobility concepts. After-sales and service operations are identified by the programme as central drivers of revenue, profitability, and customer loyalty in the automotive industry. The curriculum covers five core areas: Quality and Process Management; Service Engineering and Service Innovation; Vehicle Diagnostics and Communication; Data Analytics and Digital Transformation; and Intercultural Collaboration and Professional Communication. An integrated internship is built into the programme structure, giving students direct exposure to professional practice before completion of the degree. Graduates are equipped to analyse and optimise complex service and after-sales processes, reduce warranty, quality, and lifecycle costs, improve customer satisfaction and service performance, and design predictive maintenance and data-driven service strategies. Technical, analytical, and leadership skills are developed throughout, targeting management and leadership roles in international organisations. Although the programme has a strong automotive focus, the competencies taught apply across transport, logistics, manufacturing, consulting, telecommunications, and IT.
