The Master of Science in Automation Engineering at Tampere University is structured around two complementary majors: Factory Automation and Industrial Informatics, and Robotics. The first major prepares students to apply systems thinking to the design, development, and integration of factory automation and information systems. The robotics component covers the fundamentals of robotics, control, and sensing and perception systems. Students can shape their studies toward their own interests and career directions. The programme draws on dedicated research and learning environments including RoboLabTampere, the Fast Lab research group, and Innovative Hydraulics and Automation. Graduates go on to roles in engineering, with careers spanning project work and related fields, or continue toward doctoral study. Note: there is no intake in 2026 for this programme.
