The Art Department offers two majors: The Studio Art Major and The Art History Major. Students are mentored by practicing artists and scholars of faith within a Christian liberal arts mission, focusing on empathy and play through experiential and intellectual engagement. The Art History major examines visual theology and global traditions from a Christian perspective, while the Studio Art major prepares visual artists in a wide range of media.

Focus areas include ceramics, community art, drawing, design, film, painting.

Graduates find employment in commercial, service-oriented, and fine art fields, and are accepted into top graduate schools.

For international students, tuition is well above the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 90% of applicants.

Established in 1860 as a co-educational institution, Wheaton College is a private, residential, interdenominational Christian liberal arts college and graduate school. Its campus is in Wheaton, Illinois, a residential community 25 miles west of downtown Chicago, with access to the city and O’Hare and Midway International Airports. Residential life, orientation through Wheaton Passage, chapel, athletics, music, and shared experiences form a central part of campus life.
