Students engage in archival research, public humanities projects, and fieldwork using local resources in Hartford and surrounding cities. They analyze American culture through texts, images, and sounds while examining race, class, gender, and ethnicity in historical and contemporary contexts. The programme emphasizes critical reading, evidence-based argumentation, and independent research using transnational and spatial methods. Students study topics including civil rights, technology, globalization, and war within a global framework.

Trinity College's historic campus supports a broad undergraduate education in the capital city of Hartford. Students choose from more than 50 majors, 15 disciplinary minors, 25 interdisciplinary minors, and over 900 courses. Trinity has more than 2,100 full-time undergraduates, with students from 80 countries represented on campus. The College competes in Division III and the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
