Master in American Studies

The MA in American Studies at Leipzig University offers graduate-level training in US culture, literature, history, society, and politics. Students acquire advanced academic skills and research capabilities through an interdisciplinary approach to the United States, with the flexibility to specialise in a particular discipline or field through individual choices in thematic modules and research projects. Annual cohorts typically consist of eight to fifteen students, allowing close engagement with faculty and with the programme's guest professors, who include visiting academics from the United States invited through Leipzig University's American Studies Picador Professorship for Literature. Optional modules include a study abroad component and a professional internship.
