The Kobo5 2012 program focuses on the construction of systems for monitoring and predicting environmental changes. Two groups were involved in this program: one concentrating on atmospheric monitoring and prediction using meteorological sensors and simulation, and the other on the water environment monitoring of local lakes and rivers, also developing flood warning systems in cooperation with the atmospheric group. Students learned meteorological terms and knowledge through direct lectures and reference books, and discussed improvements to previous projects, including an iPhone app for weather information provision.
