Master in Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics

Karlsruhe, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The Master's programme in Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics is a research-based, two-year degree at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The first two semesters establish a common foundation in remote sensing techniques and geoinformatics applications, with students simultaneously selecting one of six specialisation profiles to shape the direction of their studies. In the third semester, lab rotations provide hands-on experience within self-selected research groups at KIT. The fourth semester is devoted to a six-month MSc thesis, after which successful students receive the degree of Master of Science in Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics. Profile choices draw on combinations of topics including computer vision, remote sensing of the atmosphere, environmental geodesy, and geoinformatics. Supplementary courses from other KIT programmes and, through the Eucor network, from four universities along the Rhine valley can be taken in other languages. The programme is conducted in English. The programme starts in both winter and summer semesters and is offered at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Karlsruhe, Germany.
