Trier, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The MSc in Applied Statistics at Trier University focuses on modern applied methods of statistics and prepares students for work as applied statisticians with both broad knowledge of the field and a defined specialisation. Students choose one of four tracks: Survey Statistics, European Master in Official Statistics (EMOS), Data Science, or Geostatistics. The programme combines compulsory modules in statistical foundations with a wide selection of elective courses, application modules drawn from economics, social sciences, and related fields, and a research project leading to the Master's thesis. Collaboration with the University of Bamberg through teleteaching facilities extends the range of available lectures, and a double Master's degree with the University of Pisa is possible. Running over four semesters on a full-time, on-site basis, the programme accepts students in both the winter and summer semester. Graduates typically pursue careers at national statistical institutes, central banks, research institutes, financial institutions, or consultancies, and strong candidates may continue to doctoral study.
