Bachelor in Jazz and stage music

Jazz and Stage Music is a bachelor's program taught in English over three years (six semesters) at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, Poland, with yearly tuition of 22,200 PLN. The program covers instrumental specialties in saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, piano, double bass, and drums. Teaching staff include prominent Polish jazz musicians such as trumpet player Piotr Wojtasik, pianist Kuba Stankiewicz, and saxophonist Janusz Brych. Students perform as members of the Academy's big band as well as in a range of smaller ensembles, gaining regular stage experience alongside their coursework. The jazz section is housed in a modern building opened in 2009 that forms part of the Academy's campus. The section's teaching and artistic activity has produced numerous competition and festival awards for its students. A jazz performance degree at this level typically builds technical mastery on a chosen instrument together with improvisation, ensemble interplay, arranging, and stylistic knowledge spanning the history of jazz and related popular music.
