Master in International Relations and Public Diplomacy

International Relations and Public Diplomacy is a double degree master's programme jointly delivered by Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, and the University of Siena in Italy, running for four semesters and taught in English, with an annual tuition fee of 4000 EUR. Known as IR-PUB, it is implemented with financial support from the Katamaran programme of the National Agency for Academic Exchange. Under the double-degree structure, students complete two semesters at Jagiellonian University and two semesters at the University of Siena, which brings complementary expertise in public and cultural diplomacy. The programme focuses on multi-level analysis of both international relations and states' external activities, with particular emphasis on public diplomacy in its political, economic and cultural forms, examined at the level of global and regional institutions as well as state and non-governmental organizations. Students gain knowledge, competences and skills across public diplomacy, international affairs, security issues, international economic relations, and public international law. As with comparable master's programmes, the field builds on undergraduate study in international relations, political science, or a related discipline, and IR-PUB graduates are intended to be prepared for labour market demands spanning diplomacy, international organizations, cultural institutions, and government agencies, drawing on the combined perspectives of two European academic institutions in Poland and Italy.
