About the Program

Dance Movement Therapy is a four-semester, full-time master's programme that provides professional training in the evidence-based use of dance and movement in therapeutic settings. The programme draws on creative and somatic methods to support clients' physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual integration. Course content spans therapy sciences, psychology and psychotherapy, neurology, clinical psychology, assessment, arts therapies, and evidence-based clinical practice, alongside multiple modules in dance and movement therapy procedures. The programme totals 120 ECTS credits and is structured across 15 modules. It includes two clinical placement periods and one advanced placement in either a clinical or research setting, giving students direct experience across a range of professional contexts. Graduates may work in psychiatry, psychosomatics, neurology, geriatrics, paediatrics, forensic settings, oncology, pain medicine, preventive care, and psychosocial institutions for children and families. The programme generally begins on 1 October in the winter semester. It carries a yearly tuition of 9,000 EUR and is offered at SRH University in Heidelberg, Germany.
