Silesian Univeristy of Technology

Master in Automation and Robotics

Poland Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

The Silesian University of Technology offers this master's program in Automation and Robotics, taught in English over three semesters. Yearly tuition is 5600 EUR. The program responds to labour-market demand for professionals with organizational and technical preparation for production, and it is delivered through the Institute of Engineering Processes Automation and Integrated Manufacturing Systems, which runs the Integrated Manufacturing Systems specialization within the Automation and Robotics field. The specialization includes modern laboratories equipped with programmable logic controllers from Siemens and B&R and industrial robots from FANUC, along with broader teaching facilities and access to specialized hardware and software. Teaching staff bring both theoretical and practical experience, and students have the option of developing their knowledge further through extra-curricular activities. The program's structure covers subjects including the design of technological processes, control, measurement, and diagnostic systems, microprocessor-based control systems, robotization of technological processes and robot programming, PLC programming, distributed control systems and real-time operating systems, the design and modelling of flexible manufacturing systems, production planning and control in automated systems, the acquisition and management of production data, and computer-integrated manufacturing. Graduates combine organizational and planning knowledge with technical skills across CAx methods, including CAD, CAE, CAM, and CAPP, along with modern manufacturing and computer-integration methods. Career paths for graduates include roles in design and manufacturing technology and in production control, among other positions connected to automated and robotic manufacturing systems. Automation and robotics as a field spans the sensors, controllers, and software used to run modern factories, and graduates from this program are positioned to work across process design, systems integration, and production management in manufacturing industries.
