About the Program

Animal Production Management is a master's degree program offered by Poznań University of Life Sciences in Poznań, Poland, taught entirely in English over four semesters. The program is designed for students interested in both technical problems and the life sciences, offering a practice-oriented course that teaches how to integrate environmental knowledge and technical measures to reduce the impact of human activity on the environment. While the curriculum focuses on rural areas, it also addresses problems found in industrial and urban settings. The course was shaped through international cooperation with other European universities working in agricultural sciences, as well as with national economic partners such as companies operating in animal breeding and feed production. Teaching is organized on a module system of classes and lectures intended to make the learning process more intensive and efficient. Students build skills required on the labour market by interacting with faculty and professionals during practical classes, including student projects, laboratory work, and field classes, as well as traineeships. Through this practical experience, students learn to connect scientific principles with the end product. Coursework is expected to cover topics such as biostatistics, elements of genetic engineering, genetics of quantitative traits, genomic selection, regulation of alimentary tract functions, technology of feed mix production, reproduction biotechnologies, animal disease prevention, and principles of organic animal management. Animal production management as a field covers the science and business of raising livestock and poultry, spanning breeding, nutrition, health, and farm management. Graduates typically pursue careers in agricultural enterprises, feed and breeding companies, veterinary support services, food production, and research institutions connected to animal science. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in animal science, agriculture, or biotechnology, along with English proficiency at a minimum B2 level.
